This purpose-built restaurant on the first floor above the Terenure Inn pub is another of the new-wave ethnic restaurants that are taking Dublin by storm, and opened to acclaim in December 2001. The décor - contemporary and smart interior in soft primary colours - is carried through into the food which offers colourful, beautifully presented and updated versions of many Indian favourites.  Nibbles include little bowls of various condiments such as a rich tomato sauce, a vibrantly yellow, fragrant custard dip and grated carrots with ginger and black mustard seeds, whilst the menu includes specialities for Kerala, Tamil-Nadu and Goa. Pride is clearly taken in the quality of ingredients and cooking, reflecting attention to detail in every aspect of the operation including a good wine list (due for revision at the time of going to press) and friendly service. A small selection of desserts is much more tempting than is usual in oriental restaurants (although only the kulfi is an Indian speciality), an innovative children's menu (main course, dessert and soft drink €10) offers a very mild Chicken Tikka Masala, served with either rice or pasta, and Indian cheese and tomato topped naan pizza.  The early bird dinner menu includes a good range of dishes and great value (tables to be vacated by 8pm) and the Sunday Lunch menu is also well-constructed to give a real taste of the main menu.  All round a very welcome addition to the city's ethnic dining scene.  Seats 85 (private area 35).<br>
